JH Hats Have You Covered!

Wow, the temps this week have been chilly. Maybe it’s got you thinking about a hat. (haha) It’s got me thinking about winter hibernation at the busiest time! It seems fall is always jam packed with events and it’s a time to really get to making for makers. I have four projects going and three hats on the bench. If you’re thinking about having a custom hat made for someone for Christmas, now is the time to reach out to me.

The 2025 Fall/Winter Collection is in the works! A few pieces from the collection are already at CAGS.

The complete collection will have four different styles offered in two colors; olive green and navy blue. Of course I’m always happy to make a custom hat in any color.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE STUDIO?

It’s the countdown to the Holidays. I am working on my Holiday Sparkle Collection. It will include hair combs and small bobby pins for adding a touch of holiday magic to your outfits.

Remember last month when I mentioned my trip to New Hampshire? I found these tiny adorable pinecones while there. I brought several home with me and I’m making them into Christmas ornaments. I’m using the hat bows that I stitch in the center back of my hats and Swarovski crystals.

The Mini Masterpieces exhibit at Craven Arts Council and Gallery will run from the second half of November through December. I’m working with cardboard and Posca markers to create a series of 5” by 5” works to enter. I hope to have at least 12 done by the Nov. 15th drop off date.

November and December Events

Here’s the rundown of where you can find me and my creations!

November 8-9 New Bern Artists Studio Tour I will be set up in the Harrison Center on Middle Street. This will be a time to come see how I do what I do.

December 12 I will be part of the Live Windows Display at CAGS on Middle Street.

December 13 Come check out all of my holiday creations and last season sales at the Christ Church Holiday Market from 9:00 - 3:00.
